In 29, January 2026 a multi-stakeholder dialogue forum was convened in Kassala State following the presentation of a scientific paper examining hate speech as a fundamental violation of human rights. The forum aimed to contextualize international norms—particularly freedom of expression standards—within the local social, cultural, and political dynamics of Kassala State.
The dialogue was framed by international human rights law and the Rabat Plan of Action, emphasizing the distinction between legitimate expression and advocacy of hatred constituting incitement to discrimination, hostility, or violence.
